DESCRIPTION:Join a park ranger for a 1.6 mile guided night hike to the Turkey Point Lighthouse in Elk Neck State Park for the Winter Lights\, Cecil Nights festival. Learn about the lives of the four Lady Lightkeepers stationed at the Turkey Point Lighthouse during its commission and the roles performed to keep the passing ships safe. DESCRIPTION:On December 8th\, the Northern Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra (NCSO)\, directed by Dr.  Nelson Fritts\, will host a “Christmas Concert with the NCSO”. \nThe program will be held in the auditorium at Elkton High School beginning at 7 p.m.  Admission is free\, but donations will be accepted. \nThe Northern Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra (NCSO)\, directed by Dr. Nelson Fritts\, will present their FREE Winter Holiday Concert at Elkton High School on Friday evening\, December 8th. The NCSO String Quartet\, Brass Quintet\, String Orchestra\, and Full Orchestra will perform a marvelous array of favorite classical holiday favorites. The Brass Quintet will start the program with Andrew Kazdin’s celebrated arrangement of The Twelve Days of Christmas\, the Canadian Brass arrangement of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Jazz Arranger\, Sammy Nestico’s Christmas: The Joy and Spirit. The String Quartet will follow with Glory to God in the Highest from Handel’s Messiah\, Hark the Herald Angels Sing arranged by Kenneth Abeling and My Dreidel arranged by David Bussick. The String Orchestra will perform the Pastorale from Corelli’s Christmas Concerto No. 8 and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves. The Full Orchestra’s program will include selections from The Nutcracker Ballet by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky\, The Christmas Song by Torme/Wells\, arranged by Bob Lowden\, and Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson. \nThe Orchestra works in partnership with the Cecil County Arts Council and the NCSO Board of Directors\, who represent a number of constituencies in Cecil\, Harford\, and Kent Counties. Over 200 Creators signed up to take on the challenge in 2022 of making 1 piece of artwork each day in July 2022 and now it’s time for yet another month of making in October 2023 – this year in time for Spooky Season! \nThe exhibit venue for 2023 is The Courtyard by Marriott (University of Delaware Campus) in Newark\, DE. Exhibit hours will be Friday\, November 17th from 4-9pm for the Opening Reception\, and Saturday\, November 18th from 9am-6pm.
